Best o' the Boonies: Funniest

Pin It As the year draws to a close, I like to take a few moments to think back over what's happened during the past year, and as I was doing that the other day, I had my blog to help me out! What a great tool! My highs, my lows, my calamaties, my triumphs, all are reflected here in these posts.

But some of you haven't been following this blog all year long, and may have missed some of the more entertaining gems. So, if you're up for reading a little more, I'd like to ask as many of you as possible to vote for your favorite post. Today's category is funniest, and I'm going to leave it up for a few days, and hope to get as many votes as possible. Vote by leaving me a comment.

And if you leave me a comment, I will enter your name in a drawing for a PRIZE I have to give away. I guarantee you, it is a REALLY GOOD prize, almost as good as a MAJOR AWARD, that you will love with your whole heart and soul, and brag about to all your friends. So you definitely want to enter to win.

Here are today's nominees for funniest post, and I have made each title into a link. So choose your favorite, and vote by leaving me a comment with the name of your favorite. Make an informed choice by reading them all again, if you possibly can. I had forgotten how funny some of these are.

Here are the entries in chronological order:

The Bunnies, Mr. Billy, and Mr. Billie's Beagles (January)

Vanity Fair (August)

Susan in the Boonies and The World's Sexiest Man (November)

Cookie Contest Queen (December)

I am also open to write-ins for your favorite funniest post, in case I left something out that you loved.

Vote for your favorite in this category, and in a few days, I'll have another category for you to vote on.

Oh, boy!!! Let the comments/voting begin!!!!!!!!

Well, you are such a great storyteller that it was hard to make a choice. But, I think Vanity Fair has my vote!! (Cookie Contest Queen was a close second). I was laughing so hard by the end! I just wish you would have taken a picture, LOL.

OK, I had the break out the Depends I was laughing so hard. I hadn't read The Bunnies, Mr. Billy, and Mr. Billie's Beagles before today and that one had me laughing the hardest while reading your options. So, I'll vote for that one.

Great fun, Sooze!

I'd missed the Beagle story the first time, somehow, although I'd read the others.

World's Sexiest Man is my pick for the best of the bunch.

Thanks for being real for us!

WHEW! I'm sayin' it's a solid tie between the Bunnies and the Cookie Contest. But, since the cookie contest made me snort in ecstasy/comisseration - It gets my vote.

Definitely Vanity Fair!

Cookie Contest Queen was my fave! LOVED IT!

Very hard to choose, but I think I'm going to have to go with Vanity Fair, followed closely by World's Sexiest Man.
You are one funny lady!

Vanity Fair! It made me giggle the first time I read it, and it made me giggle again just now.

Vanity Fair, hands down! I read it when you first posted it and I can still remember how hard I laughed the first time!

You are a great writer, Ms. Sooze, and I always laugh at your funny posts and ponder your serious posts.

Vanity Fair is the one that had me laughing the hardest the first time I read it, so that gets my vote!

I SERIOUSLY cannot decide. I was totally cracking up (quietly since kids are sleeping) at all of them. If you are forcing me to pick I would have to pick the Bunny one. I pictured my dad and brothers while reading it and I couldn't stop smiling.

Trying on the dress...well that one cracked me up in many ways but it was more about the fact that I hate to shop. I was feeling more pain for you than laughter. ;)

Sooze, dear, there is no debate in my mind. The pink sausage casing. As soon as I read the first sentence in your blog that jumped glaringly into my brain :D And I love your storytelling.

Well, I don't know...Vanity Fair is just so funny, but the Brody and his "doesn't get any better than this" totally cracks me up. Being of redneck descent, myself...I'm going with Mr. Billy and the Beagles. :)

I've gotta go with Vanity Fair. So funny ~ and so true to life. (Note to self: Don't try on zip-less dresses in small Roman shops. Just say no.) Yep, Vanity Fair it is.

On another note, 10,000 served is pretty darn impressive, and so is that visitor locations map. "I'm not worthy!" :-D

They were all funny. I voted for the Cookie Contest Queen. It could have been worse, Susan. As I was reading, I was reminded of an episode of that horrible TLC show, Toddlers in Tiaras, that I caught the end of one night. At the end of the children's beauty contest, they had a beauty contest for the moms. The winning mom won because, she too, was the only contest entrant. It was very humorous to see her on the stage in her evening gown and doing the "talent" portion while the entire place emptied out and the pageant promoters judged her. LOL! You really needed to see it.

You didn't list my favorite: Great Girl Scout Extravaganza. It was so good I linked a friend who is a long-time GS and BS leader. I don't usually "bother" people with links of what I think they 'have' to read, but this one she had to read.

This is a write-in vote for the three entries about the San Francisco trip.

No reason. :)

I vote Cookie Contest Queen. I recognize your pain in that one. I'm glad you went back to try again. : )

For me it has to be the Sexiest Man Alive. I still get the giggles just thinking about it. The best part for me is I have heard most of these in person and you tell your stories every bit as well as you write them SusieQ
Love you oh so much.

Oh definitely "Vanity Fair"!! I just about wet myself reading that one!

You truly have a way with words, Sooze!

I vote for Vanity Fair followed closely by the Bunnies. For a write-in, and because I was witness, it would be our OC adventure with the rogue wave.

Vanity Fair is so funny. I have had my own experiences like that, only didn't have a daughter old enough to help me.
